What are the Ingredients in Ole Henriksen Products?
Some of the ingredients in these products include;
AHAs
Alpha hydroxy acids are naturally occurring organic acids present in foods. Ole Henriksen products contain AHAs in form of glycolic and lactic acids. According to the Molecules journal, AHAs are used as superficial peeling agents to treat acne prone skin and enhance the appearance of scarring from acne. They are also in decreasing photodamage on the skin.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can be used topically in dermatology to treat and prevent photodamage. The Indian Dermatology Online Journal claims that mechanisms of action for vitamin C are antioxidant replenishing, photo-protection, and collagen synthesis.
Olive Seed Oil
Olive seed oil contains active antioxidant components including phenols, secoiridoids, and lignans. According to the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology journal, these components help to protect the skin against ultraviolet B (UVB).
Blackcurrant
Black currant has a high concentration of flavonoids known as anthocyanins. These flavonoids act to increase both collagen and elastin levels according to the Nutrients. Both collagen and elastin help maintain the skin’s structure by enhancing its elasticity and firmness as documented in our Gundy MD BioSkin Youth Complex Review article.
Bakuchiol
akuchiol is an ingredient that is derived from the Psoralea corylifolia (babchi) plant. According to The British Journal of Dermatology, bakuchiol is comparable to retinol-based on its ability to improve photoaging. It is well tolerated compared to retinol which irritates the skin of some individuals.

The brand is also cruelty-free and offers vegan options to consumers who do not use products with animal-derived ingredients. Additionally, a product like the Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders is free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, which are common causes of allergic contact dermatitis.
Despite the positive attributes, these anti-aging products also have negative reviews including customers who have used the Glow2OH toner that claimed it was very strong and thus caused them irritation.
The fruity fragrance present in these products is irritating to a portion of customers. According to Paula’s Choice ingredient dictionary, citrus extracts though natural and rich in vitamin C, are sometimes poor ingredients due to their acidic nature. Such ingredients are not considered the best option for individuals with sensitive skin.
Depending on your skincare needs, you can either decide to use any of these products or opt for another brand altogether. If you love fruity scents in your products and do not mind having animal-derived ingredients in many of the products offered, then this brand may work just fine for you. However, if you want a brand that is all-natural and scent-free for your sensitive skin, 1 then it is better to look for other options in the market, for example; Monat, The Ordinary, La Mer Cream and Jeunesse.
